The Loyola School - Providing Hope for Youth, Women, and the Community of Rerua
The Loyola School and the adjoining Peter Arrupe Center are part of the Rerua Mission, which spans over 1200 square miles.
This mission was started in 2004 by Father Walter A. Kongari, S.J.
to serve the Santhal Tribal people of East Singhbhum District in Jharkhand State,
India.

In 2005, the Loyola School opened to provide education to the boys and girls of the region. In a village where most children are hungry, uneducated, and lack the basic necessities, the Loyola School offers a place of hope and a place to learn.- Education, including Adult Literacy

The New Healthcare Dispensary and Girl’s Hostel Dormitory Construction Provides New Hope for the Children and Villagers and Work for Local People
Construction is underway for the healthcare dispensary and girls’ hostel dormitory. The dispensary will provide needed health care services, hospital beds, and medical equipment for the children. Fr. Kongari has arranged for an order of Indian Sisters to teach the students and provide a dispensary for preventative vaccinations such as malaria, hepatitis, elephantitis, and medical treatments, medications, and education regarding personal hygiene.
